About this course
The IELTS crash course is a short, intensive course of one-on-one online lessons via video call on Zoom. This course is for anyone who needs to quickly get an understanding of the IELTS exam (you are an IELTS beginner) or refresh their knowledge of IELTS or want to have a bit of simulated practice before their real exam.
What's included:
- Depending on your knowledge of the IELTS exam and your English capabilities, this course can be customised to focus on what you need to know.
- For students with no knowledge of IELTS this course will introduce the exam format, explain what you need to do in each section, and run through some Writing and Speaking mock tests
- For those who already have IELTS experience the course will be to refresh your knowledge of the exam, go over some Writing and Speaking methods, and practice Writing and Speaking
- You will be given Writing homework each lesson and this will be checked and critiqued in class
- Speaking mock tests will be given with feedback and strategies for improvement
- All material is provided. We use Cambridge IELTS resources and actual IELTS exam questions
- Students can present their own questions they may have about the test

Course duration:
This course is 4 hours. Each lesson will be 2 hours.

Student Requirements
You will need the following to take this course:
- A stable internet connection
- A computer or tablet (mobile phone is not recommended as some the content on the screen gets too small). Camera and microphone are required.
- The Zoom app which is free
- A quiet, distraction-free environment
Why we use Zoom:
- In our experience Zoom is the best software/app for online teaching. We will be using the ‘share screen’ function. The teacher will use the ‘annotate’ and ‘whiteboard’ functions.
- The lessons will not be recorded.
- The Zoom is app is free to download. We recommend using it on a laptop or desktop computer.
- One-on-one calls have no time limit on Zoom
